Staged concert Magic of the Bells
Program „From Bach to Pärt“ - Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel, Piotr Čaikovskij, Fryderyk Chopin, Heino Eller, Tõnu Kõrvits, Arvo Pärt, etc.
The Arsis Handbell Ensemble from Estonia has visited the National Philharmonic in the past and are eagerly awaited again. Equipped with more than a hundred bells these bell players play a variety of music, both arrangements of popular classical works and original compositions.
Founded and led by Aivar Mäe (also General Director of the Estonian Opera and Ballet Theatre), this Estonian collective has been in existence for over 20 years. Members of the ensemble play an impressive collection of bells made in the USA. In addition to the main group of performers, Arsis youth ensembles and handbell schools have been established in Tallinn and Tartu.
Arsis tours around the world: in many European countries, Canada, USA, South Africa, China, Lebanon. The ensemble has participated in numerous music festivals including Ottawa Chamber Music Festival in Canada, Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, Probaltica in Poland, Baltic Music Festival in China, Al Bustan in Lebanon and others.
