Mozart’s Magical Flute
In response to the decisions of the Vilnius City Municipality and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania regarding the coronavirus pandemic in the world, the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society is cancelling concert.
Works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Mozart was very fond of flute, wrote several pieces for this instrument and named one of his operas Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute)! The latter inspired the poetess Violeta Palčinskaitė to write the fairy tale Mozart’s Magical Flute. Thus, at this concert we will meet their heroes: Princess Pamina, Prince Tamino, Papageno and Papagena, and maybe even see the Queen of the Night herself. The flute does wonders! Little Wolfgang composed his first works at the age of five, and at six he performed in the large palaces where he was listened to by nobles, emperors and kings.
