Montserrat Nomeda Montsita. In Honour of Montserrat CaballéGala concert and interactive exhibition

Last year, on October 6th, Montserrat Caballé, the Spanish opera legend, has passed away. Opera soloist Nomeda Kazlaus is the only Lithuanian who has appeared throughout the world together with Prima donna in lead roles and duets, collaborated with Montserrat Caballé in documentary Caballé Beyond the Music, participated in Caballé prasentiert Stars von Morgen hosted by Prima donna herself on German TV “ARTE TV”. Kazlaus has also been documented on various other international issues.
Kazlaus’ gala appearances at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic have grown into traditional events. This year it will be held for the eighth time. This year’s project is unlike previous events for the gala concert will prospectively include original interactive exhibition. Internationally acclaimed soloists – Caballé’s daughter Montserrat Marti and Nomeda Kazlaus as well as pianist Onutė Gražinytė, currently continuing her education in Germany, will grace the stage. In addition to solo arias, songs, zarzuelas and other popular opuses, the programme will feature duets that Montserrat Caballé, Nomeda Kazlaus and Montserrat Marti have sung together.
Prior to and after the concert in the foyer of the Philharmonic an unprecedented exposition of large-scale photographs revisiting the most memorable moments of the collaboration of the three performers will be presented. The excerpts from the collaborative performances of songs will be streamed on the screens, the unique publication Caballé 40 anys al Liceu, featuring moments from Saint-Saëns’ opera Henry VIII historic productions at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, will be on display. In this opera Caballé appeared as Catherine d’Aragon and Nomeda Kazlaus – as Anne Boleyn.
Moreover, the excerpts from the LRT archival material will be shown on the screens – concert of Caballé and Kazlaus in Gostinyj Dvor in Moscow (2000), two-part interview with Prima donna (one of Caballé’s last interviews for TV) as well as interview with Montserrat Marti for Sounding Worlds with Nomeda Kazlaus TV series.
