Šiauliai is the city of the Sun in Northern Lithuania. It is like a bridge connecting the most famous Lithuanian composers, performers and today’s young musicians who are nurturing the tree of the nation’s culture.
Today, the Lithuanian National Philharmonic presents Fiori musicali violin ensemble, a favourite of young listeners, Dagilėlis boys and youth choir, the pride of Šiauliai, as well as violin soloists tutored by Nijolė Prascevičienė, a long-time teacher expert (she teaches at several music schools in Šiauliai), and a young accordion virtuoso Jonas Vozbutas.
The winner of many competitions, Fiori musicali (Flowers of Music) violin ensemble has been around for many years. Pupils are changing, but the violin tradition continues. The ensemble has performed in Latvia, the Ukraine, the Netherlands and Denmark, appeared in the programs of the International Children’s Day with Šiauliai and St. Christopher chamber orchestras, participated in the concert Beauštanti aušrelė held in the Square of the Presidential Palace and other events.
