“Let’s get acquainted with the orchestra” is the motto of the concert, which has grown to an appealing tradition. For a number of years in January the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) presents itself in Orchestra Zoomed In, which opens the stage for talented orchestra members showcasing their soloist skills in intriguing and rarely performed opuses accompanied by their colleagues. Anyone from the string to wind players, from the first to the bass stand enters the stage as the soloist.
There is no doubt that you have heard a double bassist playing a solo part. But this time get ready to be surprised – we offer you a double bass duo! Moreover, have you ever heard a piccolo flute and tuba duo? Indeed, the concert programme features various instrumental combinations as well as stylistic array offering a glimpse into the variegated world of orchestra musicians. In addition, you will hear Concerto for clarinet and orchestra by Arvydas Malcys, who is not only a composer but also plays cello in the LNSO.
