In Perpetual Classics, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and Polish conductor Andrzej Kosendiak will feature timeless masterpieces.

The concert will open with the music of two peers, early classicists Franz Xaver Richter (1709–1789) and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714–1788). Richter, an Austrian and Moravian composer, violinist, singer, conductor and music theoretician, whose Symphony No. 47 in D major will be presented to the audience tonight, belonged to Mannheim School.

Famous in his lifetime, C. Ph. Bach was later overshadowed by his father’s glory and is now mostly presented as a descendant of the famous Bach. His Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in A minor will be performed by Elena Daunytė, a winner of international competitions. As a soloist and chamber musician, the cellist has appeared in various competitions and festivals in Latvia, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Great Britain, Hong Kong and USA. As a soloist she has collaborated with the Lithuanian National SO, Lithuanian State SO, Latvian National SO, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre SO, as well as Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra and other orchestras.

Conductor Andrzej Kosendiak is also one of Poland’s leading music managers. After becoming the director of the Wrocław Philharmonic and the Wratislavia Cantans International Music Festival, he merged these institutions into one – the National Music Forum (NMF); founded the NMF Choir, the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra and the Ensemble, and the NMF Boys’ Choir. Kosendiak is an excellent early music specialist. He has conducted an early music concert in Vilnius several years ago. The conductor has initiated the publishing of a CD series 1000 Years of Music in Wrocław and is also planning to record Lutosławski’s entire oeuvre.
