Young violinist Justina Auškelytė has garnered awards in major national and international violin competitions (Lithuania, Latvia, Czech Republic, Romania). In a prestigious 3rd International Jascha Heifetz Competition in Vilnius she captured second prize. Auškelytė earned Master Degree from Juilliard School in New York, hones her skills under the guidance of her long-time mentors: professors Pavel Berman and Boris Kuschnir. The violinist takes part in major festivals in Lithuania, collaborates with Lithuanian symphony and chamber orchestras. In 2015, with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra led by Martynas Stakionis she appeared in the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Hall. Italian pianist Cesare Pezzi gives concerts in Italy, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Monaco, Switzerland, and the USA. Chamber music constitutes an important part of his performing career. In 2013, as a chamber musician he was awarded the prestigious Chiarappa Prize in Florence. The pianist collaborates with renowned musicians including Francesco Manara, and Paolo Andreoli (Quartetto di Cremona); his recordings are regularly broadcast on Italian Radio and TV; he appears in major festivals in Italy and abroad. In 2011, the pianist took part in St. Christopher Summer Festival in Vilnius. Last year, his debut at Lincoln Center in New York received outstanding critical acclaim. Since 2008, Pezzi has teamed up with violinist Justina Auškelytė. The duo recorded a CD, has given many concerts. As the highlight of this concert, Čiurlionis Quartet and the international duo present Ernest Chausson’s Concerto for violin, piano and string quartet Op. 21. Exceptionally intensive and passionate opus was premiered in Brussels in 1892 with the participation of the celebrated violinist and composer Eugène Ysaÿe, and brought Chausson great acclaim.
