Time-honoured International Music Festival Le strade d’Europa. Lithuania – Italy presents a concert Across Europe with Music featuring works by 18th-21st c. composers. There will be two contemporary highlights – an elegant Concert Scherzo by a renowned Lithuanian composer Teisutis Makačinas and Tombik by a young Turkish composer Ilkay Bora Öder, a graduate of Alfredo Casella Conservatory in L’Aquila. The latter opus, named after a legendary cat of Istanbul, reveals the ties between idiosyncratic melodies and rhythms of Middle East and traditional forms of European music.

This wide stylistic panorama will be presented by acclaimed masters: Čiurlionis Quartet, a recipient of the National Prize, and Italian residents harpsichordist Nijolė Dorotėja Beniušytė and mandolin player Francesco Mammola. A graduate of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (assoc. prof. Gediminas Kviklys) and the Prague Academy of Performing Arts (prof. Giedrė Lukšaitė-Mrazkova) Beniušytė has just recently earned Master Degree in Harpsichord Performance (prof. Andrea Coen) from Alfredo Casella Conservatory in L’Aquila (Italy). She regularly appears in various international events, competitions and festivals. Beniušytė is a founder and artistic director of PI Musica Vitale, an initiator and organiser of the International Youth Music Festival Across Europe with Music. Lithuania – Italy and International Music Festival Le strade d’Europa. Lithuania – Italy. Italian mandolin player Francesco Mammola has performed in Lithuania in the past. In 2015, he graduated cum laude from Alfredo Casella Conservatory in L’Aquila (prof. Fabio Giudice). He is a winner of numerous international competitions, a recipient of the National Award of Art “Claudio Abbado”, the “Palma Accademica” of International Academy S. Giovanni Crisostomo and the bronze medal of the Italian Senate for high artistic merits.
