Part of the CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES

The renowned Estonian bass Matti Palm wrote after one of Asta Krikščiūnaitė’s recitals: “I haven’t heard a concert of such a level for a long time. It reminded me of such masters of chamber singing as Luis Marchall and Irina Archipova. <…> The programme put together very delicately, without any shallow effects; an outstanding duo. The soprano is very comfortable in chamber scene; in her performance every work becomes little poem. Chamber music reveals Krikščiūnaitė’s best qualities – her finesse, musicality and vocal culture. It was a concert of the very high standard.”

The singer is resourceful; her every programme intrigues with rarely performed works. This time it is a song cycle by Earl Kim, the American composer and pianist of Korean heritage. The cycle was composed 25 years ago and recorded for Nonesuch Records.
