In this concert, the Čiurlionis Quartet shares the stage with Irish pianist Miceál O\'Rourke. Educated in Dublin, Antwerp and Paris, he has thrilled the audiences in Europe, Australia and the USA for more than three decades. He is best known for his recordings of works by John Field, as well as for those of Debussy’s Preludes (he studied piano under Marcel Ciampi, a pupil of Debussy), Chopin’s Nocturnes and Schumann’s piano works. O’Rourke has regularly performed with a number of famous ensembles, such as the Stravinsky Quartet. His interpretations of Mozart, Chopin, Schubert, Field, Mussorgsky, Lutosławsky at the Gerard Manley Hopkins International Summer School have attracted music lovers from around the world since 1987.
