UNESCO has proclaimed 2015 the year of Michał Kleofas Ogiński (1765–1833). Joining the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and Čiurlionis Quartet in the celebratory programmes dedicated to anniversary of the cultural figure, diplomat, benefactor and composer, a descendant of the dynasty of Lithuanian Dukes Ogiński, Musica humana chamber ensemble invites to the concert in Trakai Castle.  M.K.Ogiński has chosen a career of a diplomat in his early youth. Composition was his leisure activity – he composed music for himself and his close friends never contemplating his music to gain international recognition. Since 1792, interest in his polonaises, mazurkas and waltzes grew throughout Europe from Baltic to Mediterranean seas. His works became popular in various palaces, were performed, danced and published. Collections of his compositions enjoyed popularity among amateurs and professionals not only in Vilnius and Warsaw, but also Paris, Prague, Berlin, Vienna, St Petersburg and Milan. This concert will feature Ogiński’s songs, romances and polonaises along with compositions by other composers.
