Programme: works by Johann Sebastian Bach

Church cantata Non sa che sia dolore (Does not Know What Pain Is) was written and premiered in Leipzig in 1729, where Bach served as a cantor of St. Thomas Church. Throughout a year Bach with choir singers had to perform about 58 cantatas (on Sundays, Christmas, Easter and other liturgical celebrations, except Advent and Lent). Assumedly, he has composed over 300 church cantatas, about 100 of which were lost.

The aforementioned cantata will be performed by the festival orchestra Musica humana and soloists Raminta Vaicekauskaitė (soprano) and Ula Čaplikaitė (flute). Algirdas Vizgirda will also conduct two instrumental French Suites No. 3 in D major and No. 4 in D major.
