The Window to Lithuania presents a record of inspiration, creative energy and bliss spanning over a hundred of years. The goal of the young musicians residing in Austria and Germany, but often performing in Lithuania is to share this treasury with the audiences around the world and thus mark the 25th anniversary of Restoration of Independence of Lithuania. This programme showcases a wide spectre of chamber music by Lithuanian composers. In 2015, it was presented in Prague, Budapest, Rome, Vienna, New York, Washington D.C., Stockholm, Kiev and Odessa, and recorded as a CD. Specially for this project composer Loreta Narvilaitė composed See the Sea in the Distance imbued with Lithuanian flavour. Violinist Dalia Dėdinskaitė earned the main prize in Violine in Dresden International Competition, and consequently was invited to the prestigious Dresdner Musikfestspiele 2012. She graduated from the University of Vienna, where she studied with a famous violinist Professor Christian Altenburger. Cellist Gleb Pyšniak is a disciple of the legendary Natalia Gutman. Winner of national and international competitions, he plays solo recitals, appears with symphony orchestras in the world’s major concert halls such as Vienna’s Musikverein, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Moscow Conservatory Concert Hall. Pianist Gintaras Januševičius is a third prize winner at the M.K. Čiurlionis International Piano and Organ Competition (2007). He studied with Jurgis Bialobžeskis at the LAMT and Vladimir Krainev at the Hanover College of Music and Theatre. For eight years he has organised Plathner’s Eleven, an extremely popular educational concert series in Germany; appeared with the Lithuanian State SO, the Lithuanian National SO, Montreal SO, Moscow SO and Shenzhen SO, represented Lithuania in such festivals as Chopin’s Duszniki-Zdroj, Mozartfest Würzburg, Festival de musique de Besançon and Dresdner Musikfestspiele.
