Tonight the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and its artistic director, violinist and conductor Sergej Krylov collaborate with their faithful stage partners. A first prize winner in Stradivari Competition in Cremona and the prestigious International Fritz Kreisler Violin Competition in Vienna, Krylov frequents the concert stages of Berlin and Munich philharmonics, Vienna’s Musikverein and Konzerthaus, Venice’s Teatro La Fenice, Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall and Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colón, collaborates with Vienna, Sankt Petersburg, NHK Tokyo, Czech and Hamburg philharmonic orchestras, Milan’s Giuseppe Verdi, Parma’s Filharmonica Toscanini and English chamber orchestras, Salzburg’s Camerata Academica and other orchestras.

The Lithuanian musicians share the stage with guests from Switzerland – violinists Pavel Vernikov and Svetlana Makarova. For past two decades Vernikov, the artistic director of the Sion Festival, a disciple of D. Oistrakh and S. Snitkowsky, has been praised as a violin virtuoso. A winner of numerous competitions he has appeared in such halls as Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center in New York, Wigmore Hall in London and La Scala in Milan to name but a few. Makarova started to play violin at the age of five, and at the age ten won first prize in the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. She gives concerts around the globe. Both Vernikov and Makarova serve as violin Professors at Haute Ecole de la Musique in Lausanne.

Winner of numerous international competitions, young cellist Elena Daunytė is a member of Regnum musicale Ensemble. She takes part in various projects, festivals and master classes. As a soloist she has appeared with Lithuanian and international orchestras. Italian pianist Gloria Campaner made her official debut at the age of five and at the age twelve performed with the Venice Symphony. The list of her international prizes includes American Paderewski Piano Competition in Los Angeles, IBLA Grand Prix, and the 11th Morocco Music Competition in Casablanca. Campaner has collaborated with the English Chamber Orchestra, as well as Seoul, Johannesburg and Baden-Baden philharmonic orchestras. She is applauded for her multifarious talent – collaborates with jazzmen, folk musicians, choreographers, dancers, actors and DJ’s.

The programme features works by Lithuanian peer composers Vidmantas Bartulis and Algirdas Martinaitis, as well as their senior colleagues – Alfred Schnittke and Giya Kancheli.
