Currently, Lithuanian pianist Viktoras Paukštelis focuses on combining his two talents – painting and piano playing. Recently he has presented A Recital of Dancing Paintings, the first programme uniting these two medias. This afternoon the audience will enjoy the second programme featuring baroque and romantic compositions and Paukštelis’ colourful paintings bursting with expression and dynamics. “Of course, the main factors of the art synthesis are myself, my intellectual experiences and emotions. Perhaps, it would be difficult to point out the connection between the paintings and works written by the great composers, which I will perform, but I promise that A Recital of Dancing Paintings will be underlined with and united by my inner energy”, says the performer.

In the past, his paintings were mastered to become video projections, and the expressive and daring characters alive in canvases and audaciously juxtaposing the orderly classical music were made alive on stage by animator Eimantas Pivoriūnas. Now, Paukštelis creates the animations himself.

Having received the musical education in the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, B. Dvarionas Music School, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, the College of Music and Dramatic Art in Hamburg, and Paris College of Music, Paukštelis discovered his talent as a painter ten years ago. He has honed this skill under many a professional artist including Leo Ray, a well-known painter in Israel. Paukštelis has presented a number of personal exhibitions, took part in collective exhibitions. Currently, he studies painting at the Vilnius Academy of Art.
