Our major concert stage presents the debut of a talented Lithuanian pianist Kasparas Uinskas. Having graduated from the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, he won several prizes at various Lithuanian competitions and festivals. A decade ago he was awarded the Grand Prix at Verbier Festival (Switzerland), won Reuters’ scholarship and was invited to give a recital. In 1997, the pianist commenced his studies at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw (Poland); three years later he entered the Juilliard School of Music and made successful appearances at the Aspen and Hampton festivals.

The works by Chopin occupy a significant place in his repertoire. He has performed his Second Piano Concerto with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra under Tadeusz Wojciechowski. Last year the Baltic Optical Disc released his first solo album of Chopin’s works.
