Established in 1979, Jazz Improvisation is a unique jazz piano forum in Lithuania. After a six-year break it was revived last year and has kept attracting creative young people from around the world. For first time in its entire history the festival’s winners’ gala concert will take place at the National Philharmonic Hall. The Alexey Chernakov Quartet will strike its final chord.

It took only a few years for Alexey Chernakov, a gifted nineteen-year-old pianist, to conquer the Russian jazz scene. Peers call him genius, while critics hail him as extraordinarily promising youngster. His debut album “Trilogy. Part One” features only 20 minutes of original compositions which caused a wide resonance in the Russian press and jazz circles. At the concert in Vilnius the ever resourceful composer will present the second part of the trilogy.
