It has become a nice tradition for opera soloist Nomeda Kazlaus to welcome the audience to a gala concert in December. This year she premieres a contrastive programme The Feast of Classic and Rock the first half of which will feature opuses of eternal classical music, which will be followed by rock music compositions. The audience will also meet violinist Alexander Markov, an international star from the USA, who will also play electric violin. The idea for this concert was developed after the violinist was invited to be part of the TV program Sounding Worlds with Nomeda Kazlaus. According to Nomeda, he is one of the most intriguing contemporary violinists. As a violinist he followed in the footsteps of his father, a well-known violinist.

Young generation considers Markov to be Jimi Hendrix of rock passages and gold-glittering electric instrument. The violin virtuoso was born into a family of musicians, and, according to him, career of a musician was a natural choice. At the tender age of twenty he won gold medal at the Premio Paganini International Violin Competition and made his debut in the Carnegie Hall (New York). Today Markov is one a few violinists who perform complete 24 Caprices by Paganini on stage.

Opera prima donna Nomeda Kazlaus, a winner of four international competitions, is regularly invited to perform in prestigious European theatres and concert halls, participates in international projects, hosts TV programs in which she discusses with such celebrities of music world as Montserrat Caballe, Christoph Eschenbach, Sarah Brightman, Dmitri Hvorostovski, Krzysztof Penderecki and others; she also is a vocal teacher, as well as a jury member of various international competitions.

In addition to the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra led by master of the baton Constantine Orbelian, the gala concert will also present Vilnius choir, Domas Žostautas (bass guitar) and Linas Dužinskas (piano).
