Prof. A. Vizgirda, a recipient of the Lithuanian National Prize and the Artistic Director of Musica Humana Ensemble marks an impressive 50th anniversary of his creative career. On this occasion he has invited to join him on the National Philharmonic stage not only the collectives and soloists with whom he regularly collaborates but also his former and present students. 

The representative of the French flute school, prof. Vizgirda enjoys regular invitations to lead master classes in France, Belgium, Austria, Czech Republic, Turkey and Latvia. He is a member of the French Flute Association. In 2001, he initiated the annual international flute master classes in Neringa. The flutist’s recitals embrace music of various epochs and styles.

In 1999, Vizgirda initiated the Curonian Spit International Chamber Music Festival that has been organised to this day. He also has conceived the International J.S. Bach Music Festival. In 2006, for his creative initiatives, Curonian Spit festival’s programmes and CD recordings Vizgirda received the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize. In 2011, he was decorated with the award of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) by the French government and the award of the Honorary Citizen of the city of Neringa. In 2014, the city of Neringa awarded Vizgirda the medal “For contributions to Neringa”. The same year the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania bestowed on him the award of honour “Carry Your Light and Believe”. The professor is a recipient of the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas as well as the Governmental Art Prize.
