The National Philharmonic presents an extraordinary gift for jazz aficionados –modern international quartet performing original compositions by Kęstutis Vaiginis. The audience will have a rare opportunity to hear renowned international performers on one stage. Lionized virtuosos remain genuinely sincere in presenting energetic jazz. The quartet was formed by Kęstutis Vaiginis, one of the most talented Lithuanian saxophonists. The recipient of Joachim Gauck Europamusicale Prize among other awards, he has given concerts in Europe, China, the USA and Republic of South Africa; as a leader and guest of various formations appeared in world’s major jazz festivals. The saxophonist collaborates with international groups SiBuLi, Differences and Kęstutis Vaiginis Quartet. Among other albums, his discography includes Unexpected Choices (2008) and Lights of Darkness (2014). “His vision is wide-ranging from the subtle to the provocative, rooted in an appreciation of tradition and yet looking forward”, said Steve Wilson, an illustrious American saxophonist, about Vaiginis’ Unexpected Choices.
