The Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society presents Yurina Arai, a Japanese violinist who triumphantly won the International Jascha Heifetz Competition for Violinists 2017. Currently, she studies under the tutelage of illustrious violin professors Natsumi Tamai and Gérard Poulet at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Arai started collecting her impressive victories more than 10 years ago – she won the Student Competition in Nagoya (2005), garnered first prize in Osaka International Music Competition (2006), and again claimed first prize in Nagoya (2007). She conquered the audiences and became an absolute winner in Grumiaux International Junior Violin Competition (2016) and the International Jascha Heifetz Competition for Violinists (2017).

Tonight the young violinist will perform the emotional Violin Concerto by the romanticist Max Bruch. In addition, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra led by Maestro Robertas Šervenikas will offer symphonic opuses by Johannes Brahms and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.
