“I am here thanks to you!” says Vytautas Juozapaitis and invites the audience to the anniversary concert

On December 21st, Saturday, a festive concert will be held at the Philharmonic marking the 50th anniversary of soloist Vytautas Juozapaitis.

“It is good to return home where someone is waiting for you… Where it is warm and cosy, where you find yourself surrounded by friends and congenial ones, who need music like air… Where the stage and the audience become one and our souls are filled with joy of oneness. This feeling becomes especially dear when you get home after a prolonged journey, when you realise that you have been longing for your long unseen friends, when you are bursting with impressions that you want to share and you feel gratitude to those who waited… Let me invite you to this feast of art where I will tell you: I am here thanks to you!” That is how the admirers are addressed by Vytautas Juozapaitis - an opera soloist, one of the prominent Lithuanian baritones, a laureate of the Lithuanian Culture and Arts Prize, as well as all other major Lithuanian music and theatre awards, a long-term soloist of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and other musical theatres, who has prepared over 50 roles, a guest performer at foreign theatres.

The soloist’s repertoire also includes parts from famous oratorios; he has toured in most European countries, as well as India, Nepal, Japan, the USA and Canada appearing at major festivals and performing together with renowned orchestras and conductors. The soloist has received the Cross of Officer of the Order for Merits to Lithuania and was granted title of Professor by the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. At present, Vytautas Juozapaitis serves as a Member of Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania.

The programme of the anniversary concert at the Grand Hall of the Philharmonic features the finest opera fragments and songs to be performed by Vytautas Juozapaitis and the soloists Asta Krikščiūnaitė (soprano), Ieva Juozapaitytė (soprano), Algirdas Bagdonavičius (countertenor), Tomas Pavilionis (tenor) and Vladimiras Prudnikovas (bass). Piano will be played by Petras Geniušas, while the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra will be conducted by Modestas Barkauskas.

The concert begins at 7pm.
