Essential Classics for the Orchestra and Two Pianos, and a Glimpse at Contemporary Spanish Music
January 21, at 7 pm, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra invites its audiences to its first concert this year at the Main Auditorium of the National Philharmonic Hall. The programme features works by Franz Schubert, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and contemporary Spanish composer Víctor Carbajo. The Orchestra will appear under the baton of the guest conductor from Romania, Cristian Florea, together with the soloing piano duo from Switzerland made of Lithuanian-born pianists Vilija Poškutė and Tomas Daukantas.

Gathering Pace in Year 2012
Christmas and New Year concerts were followed by the period of seeming calm at the National Philharmonic Society. But this state will not last long. Special event concerts will soon open the gates to the year 2012. During January – February, the Philharmonic is planning to present more than 50 concert programmes in Vilnius alone. Another 8 programmes are going to take place in Trakai, as part of the traditional Music in Trakai Castle series. Each month, over a dozen programmes will be presented at different Lithuanian cities and towns as well.
