This Saturday the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Modestas Pitrėnas will present the listeners with a symphony music concert titled Spring Symphony. Guest soloist of the concert is Kolja Blacher, who will play the Stradivari violin.
This Saturday, visitors are invited to listen to symphony music and songs programme titled Love Songs from North and South, to be presented at the Grand Hall of the Philharmonic. The programme combines the fantastic Nordic soundscapes of Edward Grieg’s songs and Norwegian Dances, the love duet from opera Olav Tryggvason by Ragnar Søderlind, as well as temperamental southern sounds of Georges Bizet’s suite L'Arlésienne and excerpts from operas Carmen and The Pearl Fishers.
On February 21st, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Juozas Domarkas will perform a symphony music programme From the Treasury of the Orchestra, featuring works by Paul Dukas and Alexander Scriabin, while the piano duo Rūta Rikterė and Zbignevas Ibelhauptas will present an amazing premiere of a monumental opus of the minimalist music of the 20th century – the Grand Pianola Music by American composer John Adams.
