The planned performance of the China National Peking Opera as part of the Vilnius Festival programme has aroused tremendous interest of the public. The performance will take place on June 4th at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. On June 2nd, 7pm a meeting with the soloists and director of the Peking National Opera will we held at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society. The audience will have a rare chance to see the Peking opera up close.
Each year, the Vilnius Festival invites the listeners to an exceptional concert of jazz music. This year it will present a famous jazz pianist and author of diverse intricate projects, a Martinique-born Grégory Privat and his group. G. Privat is welcomed in concert halls throughout the world and is renown for his international collaborations combining different styles, national features and original ideas. At a concert in Vilnius we shall hear an original jazz composition by Grégory Privat titled Tales of Cyparis.
“Truly breathtaking in virtuosity… Everything you never dreamt a mandolin could do!” – wrote the international press about mandolin virtuoso Avi Avital, who is coming to the Vilnius Festival. On June 3rd, this famous Israeli musician will appear on stage of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society together with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra (LCO) led by Maestro Sergej Krylov.
