This Saturday the National Philharmonic Society invites the listeners to a concert of a French violinist Philippe Graffin, well familiar to and welcomed by the Lithuanian audiences. He has a long term creative relationship with Lithuanian artists, which resulted in an amazing recording titled Concertos Parlando released last year. The recording (released by Cobra Records) immediately attracted the attention of the prestigious music magazine Gramophone.
On April 15th, a concert of the National Youth Symphony Orchestra of Germany will take place at the Grand Hall of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society. The concert of the young German musicians is dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of German reunification and the restoration of Lithuanian Independence. Under the patronage of the Goethe-Institute, the Orchestra has toured Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, devoting its concerts to the restoration of Independence of these Baltic States via the “singing revolutions” and their return into the European family, which was further strengthened by the reunification of Germany 25 years ago.
At the speed of light Vilnius becomes filled with the sounds of programmes of one of the most important music events of Lithuania – the Vilnius Festival. Planned for 1-21 June this year the Festival is anticipating seven programmes featuring performers from diverse countries spanning from our neighbour Latvia to China.
