In April 2008, Vitaly Pisarenko won the first prize at the International Franz Liszt Piano competition in Utrecht, the Netherlands. His packed tour schedule, with worldwide engagements until 2011, commenced straight away the morning after the finals with an appearance at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw. Lithuania was on time to squeeze into his itinerary including Europe, South and North America and Asia. For Vilnius recital Vitaly Pisarenko, dubbed virtuoso individualist, certainly offered several works by Liszt not only because the press and jury members associated him with young Liszt, but also because after spending such a long time with Liszt’s music the pianist feels at home with it.
