Part of the VILNIUS FESTIVAL 2010
Tenor Edgaras Montvidas opens the Vilnius Festival’s extravagant series of three recitals. His solo appearance is a rare opportunity to get absorbed in the world of delicate and fleeting vocal music of the 19th and 20th centuries. The singer who currently appears mostly in operatic productions has already claimed the hearts of opera lovers at Europe’s major opera houses. But sometimes he also reveals another striking and meaningful side of his artistic personality by presenting chamber music programmes that demonstrate his impeccable sense of style and sophisticated taste. “Home means spiritual cosiness to me,” confesses the soloist. He returns to his native Lithuania with pianist Simon Lepper, who is highly regarded by the international audiences and the press as an extraordinarily gifted expert of the vocal repertoire.
