Part of the VILNIUS FESTIVAL 2010

Best known for his performances on the Baroque lutes and electric guitar, Edin Karamazov also plays several other plucked instruments from disparate cultures and epochs. A consummate interpreter and master technician, he is also an outstanding recitalist, appearing at many prestigious venues across Europe. Despite all his success, however, he still enjoys giving impromptu performances on the street. As he says, looking back to his early days performing with a travelling circus, “Music remains a kind of circus to me!” He can be heard in the recordings of music by Renaissance lutenist John Dowland or in concerts with British pop star Sting. He currently collaborates with the leading international early music ensembles and corresponds with Leo Brouwer, the living classic of the guitar from Havana. He remains committed to paradoxical juxtapositions that await to be revealed in this concert.
