Part of the VILNIUS FESTIVAL 2010

The scenario of the festival’s closing concert is the dialogue between cultures and generations. The soloist, young Armenian violinist Sergey Khachatryan (an embodiment of Apollo), meets a seasoned Chinese conductor Chen Zouhuang who is the second most celebrated baton master from the Far East after Japanese maestro Seiji Ozawa. For four years he has stood at the helm of the Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra, established in 1966. Recently Chen Zouhuang was appointed the Music Director of the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing – National Grand Theatre (also known as The Egg). Under his leadership the orchestra and soloist will perform Brahms’s Violin Concerto that demands extraordinary technical abilities.
