Part of the VILNIUS FESTIVAL 2009
Violeta Urmana’s recitals in the musical centres of Europe, USA and Japan usually become remarkable events, and claim the extraordinary attention of critics and audiences alike. The Lithuanian singer is one of today’s most striking dramatic sopranos, performer of the roles of Italian opera protagonists such as Aida, Amelia, Elisabeth, Leonora, and Norma. In 2002 and 2006, she appeared as Iphigénie and Aida in La Scala’s season opener productions.
This programme will also feature V. Urmana’s husband, the Italian tenor Alfredo Nigro.
