Every year the early music performers highlight the Vilnius Festival. This year’s exotic event urges to summon our knowledge of ancient Aztec and Mayan cultures, as well as Spanish folklore, furrowed with twists and turns of the history, but nevertheless having retained its refreshing element… This intriguing Mexican ensemble Cappella Cervantina consists of a vocal ensemble and a baroque orchestra. The special aura surrounds its director Horacio Franco, a flute and recorder virtuoso, early music expert, who not only appears as a contemporary music soloist with celebrated symphony orchestras, but also enjoys playing rock music.
