Part of the RECITAL SERIES
When the world is commemorating the 200th birth anniversary of Chopin named as king of the piano, the anniversary of Robert Schumann (1810–1856), his German contemporary, unfolds in his shadow. Lithuanian pianist Andrius Vasiliauskas dedicates his recent CD album and a piano recital to this anniversary. Concert programme presents Schumann’s all-round portrait from miniatures documenting diverse moments of composer’s life to philosophically charged Third Sonata and his last composition – Geister-Variationen.
