Part of the RECITAL SERIES
Japanese pianist Ingrid Fujiko Hemming returns to the Lithuanian scene. In the past she had luck to collaborate with such legendary masters of baton as B. Maderna, H. von Karajan and L. Bernstein. More than two million copies of her debut CD La Campanella (1999) were sold – a rare occurrence in the academic music domain. However, F. Hemming sees her mission in music projects through which she supports Afghan refugees, UNICEF and wild life protection organisations. Her charitable concert in Tokyo in 2005 collected more than 10 million yen. In Lithuania in 2008, the pianist appeared with LNSO and gave her honorarium to Lithuanian animal protection organisation Vilniaus pifas.
