The silent film Christus (1916, directed by Giulio Antamoro) accompanied live on organ

 

 

Well-known for his original creative ideas Domenico Tagliente (Italy), an organist, improviser, composer and musicologist, performs throughout Europe, participates in festivals (Salzburg, Avignon, Bachfest in Leipzig, etc), leads master classes, gives lectures on Italian music and composes music for film and TV programs. As improviser he often accompanies silent films such as The Phantom of the Opera by Rupert Julian (1925). Tonight the audience will be treated to a unique happening – Christus (1916), a silent film by Giulio Antamoro, accompanied by Tagliente’s improvisations.
