Internationally recognised pianist Claudia Yang will make her Lithuanian debut. Born in Malaysia she arrived in Vienna (1991) to further her education. The following year she was invited to perform in the Salzburg International Music Festival for Young Pianists. In 1993, she continued her studies under Prof. P. Badura-Skoda at the University of Music & Performing Arts in Vienna. In 1997, C. Yang moved to Hungary, where she was often invited by various ambassadors to give recitals for high-ranking officials and diplomats. In April 1998, the pianist was requested to give a recital at the high-level NATO meeting in Hungary. She also appeared in several recitals during the meeting in Budapest of the leaders of the European Union. C. Yang performed in Germany, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Austria, Argentina, Taiwan, Japan and Hong Kong, collaborated with Slovakian and Dresden Philharmonics and Vienna Chamber Orchestra. In addition, she gives master classes in China and other countries.
The pianist will introduce her native music to the Vilnius audience. The version of Concerto for piano and orchestra after Xian Xinghai (1905–1945) Yellow River Cantata was put together by a group of Chinese composers.
