Part of the ORCHESTRAL MUSIC SERIES
After the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra under Robertas Šervenikas will perform the 20th-c. Italian neo-classicist Ottorino Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances suite based on late Renaissance and early Baroque lute song form, the stage will be graced by the piano legend Dmitry Bashkirov. His name got fixed in piano performance history as early as in 1955 when he earned acclaim in International Margueritte Long Piano Competition in Paris. When the Queen of Spain invited him to teach at the Queen Sofia College of Music in Madrid in 1991, his repute started growing in the field of piano pedagogy as well.
The concert will close with Mozart’s symphony, which the Austrian genius composed during his four-day stay in Linz.
