Part of the ORCHESTRAL MUSIC SERIES
Having leaped into a vortex of the Perpetuum mobile season, the ingenious Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra continues its orchestral music series. This concert offers a rare opportunity to delve into the vast expanse of the profound and philosophical music. The stage of the National Philharmonic Hall becomes a setting for a meeting of the 20th-century monolithic score, Dmitry Shostakovich’s Second Cello Concerto, and Danjulo Ishizaka, an exuberant thirty-year-old cellist of German and Japanese descent. “Talented and extraordinarily unique musical personality. His technical abilities are phenomenal, his palette of colour is resourceful and spontaneous, his phrasing intelligent” wrote influential daily Süddeutsche Zeitung about the musician, who keeps claiming hearts of ever widening audiences.
