Part of the ORCHESTRAL MUSIC SERIES
This evening brings together two music stars: an established supernova – conductor Ronald Zollman and a rising star – violinist Anna Tifu. The latter made her debut at the La Scala (Milan) at the age twelve performing Bruch’s First Violin Concerto. Among many of her teachers (she studied at the Cremona, Siena and Cagliari academies, Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, Paris Conservatoire) she singles out Italian violin virtuoso Salvatore Accardo. According to him Anna Tifu is endowed with exceptional talent, her performances mesmerise by evocative expressivity, technical perfection and professional maturity.
Ronald Zollman has established his name in international music scene in the 70s. He led the elitist British, German and American orchestras, regularly collaborated with the celebrated London Sinfonietta, was the first conductor to stand at the helm of InterContemporain after Pierre Boulez (after his personal invitation). “…Master performer of these pages and of so many other ones of the music of our time as much as of all times” two years ago claimed Henri Dutilleux, a living French classic.
