Part of the NIGHT SERENADES concert series
Andrei Kavalinski is a true master of polished sound, however his sound palette can include husky and thick sonorities. Even though, today the trumpeter associates himself with the Belgian music context (since 2001, he has been a soloist with the Flemish Radio Orchestra), Kavalinski was born in Minsk and continued his studies at the “Staatliche Hochschule für Musik” in Karlsruhe (Germany). His repertoire embraces music of four epochs. This programme features concertos representing two periods: Torelli’s work, written in the tradition of Baroque concerto grosso and a romantic opus by Ponchielli. The first evening of the Night Serenades will open with Eine kleine Nachtmusik, the concert series’ hallmark, and the two concertos will be separated by Rossini’s youthfully simplistic sonata.
