Part of the MUSIC IN TRAKAI CASTLE series

Genadijus Savkovas, Dmitrij Golovanov and Saulius Auglys are brilliant instrumentalists at ease with any musical style (in terms of epochs and genres). Thus their manifold concert programme offers music of different cultures, epochs and styles. The instrumental jazz afternoon From Classics to Swing features not only interpretations of the well-known classical opuses (Debussy, Bach), American compositions that have become jazz standards (Gillespie, Gershwin), and examples of crossover of Baroque and Swing (Bolling), but also French and Latin American pop music. Musette, the style that originated in street cafes of Paris at the turn of the 20th century, is often associated with accordion and dance. Along with the chanson, that had become a hit (Delpech), and accordion virtuoso varieté (Astier) the performers program two Waltzes Musette  (Murena, Viseur). While the Argentinean tango (Gardel) and Brazilian Bossa nova (Jobim) add the Latin American pop music flavour to the programme.
