Organised by the Kaunas Branch of the Lithuanian Composers’ Union, the festival Iš Arti has started as a modest event. Today it has grown into a substantial window on the contemporary music. All the concerts are held in Kaunas, however one has ‘dropped’ in Vilnius. The Kaunas String Quartet, an envoy of Kaunas music life, together with soprano Asta Krikščiūnaitė and pianist Lina Krėpštaitė invite the Vilnius audience to discover the music of Vidmantas Bartulis, Algirdas Brilius, Vladas Švedas, Giedrius Kuprevičius and Algimantas Kubiliūnas. Host of the concert – Egidija Medekšaitė.
