There is a saying that every soloist’s dream is to conduct an orchestra, and orchestra musicians’ – to get out of the orchestra pit to perform on stage at least once. The opera buffa Il maestro di cappella fulfils all of these dreams. The Kapellmeister (performed by Ignas Misiūra), a maestro, composer and singer in one, is teaching the orchestra to perform his composition, albeit knowing that he is a mediocre conductor. You will see the result of their mutual effort. The first half of the concert will feature the most beautiful numbers from operas by Händel, Mozart and Donizetti performed by young soloists Vilija Mikštaitė, Merūnas Vitulskis, Raimundas Juzutis and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra.
