Part of CURONIAN SPIT FESTIVAL
Musica humana closes its summer festival with an impressive programme of Mozart’s works. Hoping to find a position deserving his talent Mozart went to Paris in 1778. Here he was commissioned to write a symphony. Doubting the talent of the composer, the commissioner forced Mozart to compose in his presence. Even though the brilliant Symphony in D major garnered acclaim, Mozart’s hope to earn recognition in French capital was not fulfilled. In Oboe Concerto he projected the impressions of his European travel. This opus will feature R. Beinaris, a talented oboist who has soloed with Lithuanian and international orchestras.
Twelve-year-old Mozart composed Missa Solemnis on the occasion of re-consecration of the Church of Vienna’s Orphanage. Held on December 7th, 1768, the premiere was conducted by the young composer in the presence of the entire palace of the Emperor.
