Part of the series MUSIC IN TRAKAI CASTLE
The inexhaustibly inventive Čiurlionis Quartet and its regular stage partner and chamber music authority Asta Krikščiūnaitė invite to enjoy the tranquillity of approaching Christmas. “Her genuine utterance as if coming from a naked heart had a magical effect. When Asta Krikščiūnaitė with her eyes sparkling sings like this her voice opens
with incredible timbres…” (Muzikos barai). Among other composers the concert programme features the American Mel Tormé – the great personality totally dedicated to jazz: a singer, a composer, an arranger, a drummer, an actor in radio, film and television, and an author of five books. In 1946, he co-wrote the classic holiday song The Christmas Song (also known as Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) with Bob Wells.
