Part of the CHRISTMAS MUSIC WEEK
Established in 2004 on the initiative of violin virtuoso Vilhelmas Čepinskis, this unique ensemble involves thirteen string players – former members of European Union Youth Orchestra in London and Mahler Youth Orchestra in Vienna as well as other seasoned musicians. Some musicians combine work here and in Kremerata Baltica. Camerata Klaipėda can pride itself on extensive repertoire spanning from Baroque era to 21st century. However, the greatest attention is given to works that have never been performed in Lithuania. The Orchestra’s repertoire also showcases its founder’s arrangements for violin and string orchestra. Čepinskis plays on J.Guarnerius ex-Menuhin made by Leonid Rafaelian in Cremona, Italy.
V. Čepinskis will share the stage with M. Bereznitsky, winner of international viola competitions in Great Britain and Moscow (Y.Bashmet Viola Competition, 1st prize), distinguished artist of the Russian Federation. He gives recitals in prestigious halls in Russia and throughout Europe, as a violinist and violist appears in international festivals.
