Khachaturian Trio was founded in 1999. It has toured extensively around the globe: Switzerland, United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Russia, Central and South America. The Trio has participated in festivals such as Schubertiade (Lausanne), the Festival de las Artes (Costa Rica) and Festival International Cervantino (Mexico), to name but a few. The members of the Trio are established and highly regarded chamber musicians, winners of international competitions. The critics have praised the Khachaturian Trio’s virtuoso performances, musicality and subtle sense of style. The concert programme features nineteen-year-old Rachmaninov’s Trio élégiaque No 1 in G minor (1892), A. Babadjanyan’s, 20th c. Armenian composer, Trio in F sharp minor and Shostakovich’s Piano trio No 2 in E minor composed in 1944 and premiered in Leningrad after the Breakthrough of the Siege of Leningrad.
