Part of the CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES
Formed in 2006, this ensemble of young enthusiasts has been repeatedly praised for its vibrant and suggestive performances. FortVio has earned recognition in several chamber music competitions, participated in international master classes, and has given a number of acclaimed concerts in Lithuania and abroad. Tonight’s programme features three works from different epochs and countries: lyrical Schubert’s Trio, romantic in its content but classical in its form; Turina’s opus, combining Spanish ethnic elements (Basque rhythms, figurations characteristic of music of Moors, fast pulse of Aragon Chota, mellifluous Spanish melodies) and classical tradition of Western European music; a trio by Faustas Latėnas who having transported hypertrophied banality, irony and musical hooliganism from theatre field to academic music was dubbed enfant terrible of generation of the Lithuanian new romanticists.
