Part of the CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES

“... From the very first moment the audience was charmed by the ideally even tone of all the instruments. <...> The contours of the theme, the voice leading, the lively rhythms and tempos, the sound effects — all these were expressively conveyed in the proper style. We were simply wonderstruck by the richness of colour. What subtle colours can be created by the hands of really talented artists!...” Such as this admiration from Hungary often accompanies Čiurlionis Quartet’s appearances at international festivals and prestigious concert halls around the world. Always eagerly awaited in Lithuania, the Quartet has given here many memorable musical projects, such as a concert of works by Latin American composers, Indian music, as well as programmes with folk singer Veronika Povilionienė, jazz musicians Petras Vyšniauskas, Povilas Jaraminas, Dainius Pulauskas, Vyacheslav Ganelin (composer of “The Devil’s Bride”) and percussionist Arkady Gotesman. Last year the Čiurlionis Quartet celebrated its 40th anniversary.
